Beergaritas for Cinco de Mayo
Story by Heather Sneed, Friend of Seville
Do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo with your friends and neighbors in Seville? If the answer is a resounding “YES,” then this will be an article for you to read. These Beergaritas combine the best of both worlds…beer and margaritas. What else could be better to serve for Cinco de Mayo?
These couldn’t be easier and can be made by the pitcher! Or, maybe even by the punch bowl, if you are making for a crowd…and you own a punch bowl…
Cinco de Mayo is on a Sunday this year, a great opportunity to invite some friends and neighbors over – set up an easy buffet of Mexican food (or have it catered – I’m not judging!) alongside plenty of Beergaritas. Cheers!
Makes 1 Pitcher
12 ounces frozen Limeade concentrate
36 ounces Corona Light beer (or your favorite light Mexican beer of choice)
6 ounces silver Tequila
2 ounces Grand Marnier
Juice of 2 limes (plus additional lime slices for garnish)
Orange slices for garnish
In a large pitcher, add the frozen limeade concentrate and slowly add the 3 beers. Stir until combined.
Next, add the Tequila, Grand Marnier, and juice from the 2 limes. Stir again.
Cut your extra limes into slices for your garnishes as well as some into wedges. Take your lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glasses. Dip the rims of your glasses into a place of coarse salt to coat.
Fill each glass with lots of ice, pour Beergarita into glass, garnish, and serve.
I hope you give these a try this Cinco de Mayo – or at any point you are craving both a beer and a margarita and you just can’t decide. When you do, I’d love to see photos and I hope you’ll share them on your favorite social media sites and tag me.
